Now I'm ready. Got the Wolverine dialed in with field tips. Screwed on a new ToTA standard vented 100gr and sent the first broadhead downrange at a 1/2" dot at 20 yards. I guess they really do shoot like field tips.

At 40y the aiming point in a TACT100 is about 1.5" in diameter. My arrows hit within 1/2" of the center of that aim point. If a bad hit occurs, I can't blame the hardware.

For the most part I go through the motions until near the end of October . The spots are primarily doe areas so the guys don`t make regular appearances until end of October . Start of the season I will be taking out the original Wolverine . Then whatever my heart desires later on . Still have to dust off the smokepole as well .

I hauled my tractor up to my place in Oklahoma on Tuesday to mow roads, stand locations, and food plot sites, and I intended to do ground prep for food plots. However, even though it’s been a wet summer, the ground is now dry and rock hard, so I wasn’t able to till at all. I left the tractor up there, so if/when we get some rain, I’ll go back to till and plant.
Other that that, everything is pretty well ready to hunt.

I’ve already got my Stryker Offspring checked and ready to hunt in Oklahoma, and I started this afternoon sighting in the old Exomax to hunt with behind my house here in Texas.

I've been ready since hunting season closed last year!! I always say that there are only two seasons, hunting season and waiting for hunting season.

I quit hunting with my Exomax in about 2013 when I bought a Matrix 380, then I went to a Micro 335. Since 2020, I’ve hunted with the Stryker Offspring. The Micro 335 and Offspring stay at my place in Oklahoma, so I’m putting the Exomax back into service to hunt with behind my house here in Texas. The Exomax shoots really well, but I’m really not enjoying the noice and vibration. I’ve gotten used to the smoothness and quietness of the compound crossbow.

I just got my kill plot planted and that’s it! I have not readied one bow yet. I’ve been way too busy here at home and it’s getting in the way of hunting! I barely have enough time to fart!🫢
How is everyone else doing? Is your bow ready? Do you have arras? How is your hunting grounds?
....yea, but the one time that you did have time to "fart" you caused, not only a stink, but wildfires in Canada that have caused much smelly smoke all the way down to the US.....Next time Don that you find time to "fart," we in the US request that you point your "arse" in a northerly direction please!

Am I ready?:

1. I finally received the "special dispensation" license that NY DEC has just issued for those who can get a Dr's note saying you are "downright crazy."....no problem there so now I can hunt w my GRZII or Scorpyd the entire archery season. Can't use the MAG340 or the Assassin because there is a 200lb DW restriction.

2. My boys have been working on food plots in an effort to keep deer on our property after the acorns are gone. We are surrounded by woods and we are trying to develop areas where the deer will feel comfortable and will stay on our property unless forced out.

3. With that said, they do not want me to hunt until a few weeks into the season. Hmmmmm, I spent all this money for the property and they won't let me hunt, until they say so.... :eusa-snooty: :eusa-naughty:

4. So, I am ready, still have to shoot the Scorpyd...then it is sit and wait for the OK....Kind of like our President waiting for his handlers to tell him what to do! :shifty:

Dave, I hate to hear this!!
I feel for you. I've had some issues with mine since 1994.
Follow the Doc's orders! And if they tell you "Go to Rehab", by all means go to rehab!!
My dear friend, I wish you a successful surgery and a fast recovery!!
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Keep me posted on how you are recuperating from this little adventure!!
And now, follow your own advice. Be careful and stay safe!!

....sorry to hear this Dave....at almost 66 and having scoliosis, I truly feel your pain, "literally!"
For many years I have suffered with back pain....for some reason, the pain itself has somewhat dissipated. What I am left with now is a burning numbness in my left thigh. Nerved damage I am told. I have just started using an inversion table to stretch my "snake wake" spine and back muscles. It appears to be helping....also suffering from bad knees....so I am relegated to a ground blind.

I wish you the best on the surgery and hope next year finds you enjoy again the fall hunting season!

That's terrible! Sorry to hear about this! I hope you're back at it sooner! I had some bad back pain for years and at times I wore a weight belt just to walk. I lost a lot of upper body strength. I can only imagine that you're going through hell!
