Excalibur prolonged accuracy

Post by longbow joe »

I haven't bought a new crossbow in a couple years ..I'm content with what l have.
I have too many already anyway.
To simplify things I just shoot 20" zombies from my matrix and exo bows with the same weight broadhead and practice head.
Every year l site in my y25,matrix 330,matrix 355 and my exo bows.
I enjoy rotating them .
I can't believe year after year how they basically never loose zero.
I just got done shooting the last ones yesterday and every one is spot on at sub 40 yards with maby a click of the scope on 2 of them.
In my opinion the vixen, ibex ,Phoenix are the most accurate of the clan and the slowest too.
This alone says a lot about an excalibur product.
Who is going to be shooting the same ravin bow in 15 years I seriously doubt it.
I have lent my Phoenix to a friend that doesn't have money for a good bow l know it shoots straight if he gets a buck with it I may let him keep it...let's see what happens.
I have parts to make another.
I wish I had put a few luepold crossbones away in the closet now that they are hard to find that's my one regret 😕

I've found the same thing every year. I shoot my bow when the season nears and it's always right on. Another thing I've noticed is that at 20 yards, 100 and 125 gr. heads (on the same arrows) seem to shoot the same (both in the bullseye). There is just a little difference at 30 yards.

You know I’m with you Joe! The 175lb bows are really the sweet spot. I love my two metal rail Ibex… plenty powerful enough for real world bow hunting.

Just picked up a like new Vixen II. I regretted selling mine years ago. It is hands down more accurate than my micro and any matrix I have shot. It also penetrates better than my micro shooting the same arrow. I can cock it and let it down by hand and I don't have to keep reserving my strings. They had it right from the beginning. One more week of waiting to take it in the woods.
