Wow ...I had a dozen of the "joe joes" on a big round ball bearing equipped plywood wheel when l used to make arrows .
They actually made a good fletch years back ..you used to have to file/dremel and mess with them but when you got them right and no binding was present the weight of the fletcher held down a nice helical.
I would imagine you would have to fletch with a Normal notch nock then take it out and put in the flat.
I've grown lazy now ..factory fletched zombies for me when a vane comes off they get tossed im done sniffing glue 😆
Vixen 2, metal ibex,Phoenix, sapphire, matrix 330 ,matrix 355 ,vortex and baby grand piano y25 relayer.
Trigger tecs, leupold crossbones and nikon bolts.
Zombie slayers and mostly swat broadheads.

This is how I do it. If the flat nock is unthreaded, I remove it and put in a threaded one. You can then take a steel, aluminum, or brass broadhead adapter and screw it in after you have sawed a slot in it so it will fit the nock indexer. You then have to mark the fletch clamp to get the location you want. Then fletch as normal. Then when finished you can change out nocks if you want.

This may help.

I would just buy a Arizona ez fletch in helical for bolts fast, easy, perfect for hunting bolts.

I use a JoJan with flat nocks. I just dremel'd a slot in an old 38 special brass and it slips over the back of the flat nock snug.

Wish I could claim as my own idea....but it was here on this forum or another one that someone else shared to do that. It is brilliant though, fits perfect! (38 special or 357 mag cases work)

Fred Bear also used 38 special caseins in a pinch for blunt small game heads over arrow tips.
