Matrix question

Post by GunsiteScout »

It’s been a while that I have been active on this forum. I have technical question regarding the Matrix line of bows.

Is there anything current that Excalibur makes that would be the size of the Matrix? I have a Matrix 350. I’d like to get a spare backup. I don’t want to have to get a Micro

This is the only bow that Excalibur sells that uses Matrix limbs. https://excaliburcrossbow.com/bows/assassin-420-td/

Also, Boo didn't you get one of these? https://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=74043&sid=dcc53964c7eeec651903911763ee91ce&start=15

I googled "Excalibur Bulldog 305 Mortzy" and found a few stores online that seem to still have them. I'd get that one over the GRZ2 all day long.

I would look for a nice used Matrix 355, or 380 personally.

That 350 Matrix is about the best bow out their.
For a back up bow I would look on Crags list or Ebay for a used Matrix.

I did but they are no longer available. I guess there maybe some remaining in stores but it was a small run of a 305 ft/sec bow using Martrix limbs on a Bulldog riser using a 355 mainframe

On the GRZ2. Could the plastic rail be replaced with an aluminum rail of similar draw weight poundage? I have a replacement rail from another 350 Matrix

I picked one up a few weeks ago, and love it. If you’re okay with a “slow” bow I think it’s a great option - there’s still a few available online. If you’re in he states, it’s a cheap bow to buy given the current exchange through Canadian retailers. I bought it with the thought it’ll probably last forever given the low stress on the limbs, hope I’m right because this is the bow I plan to keep until the end of time. After 100 shots it’s showing next to no serving wear, the stock ACP trigger is great and it cocks easily enough to not aggravate my lower back no matter how many shots I put through it in a sitting. 305fps is plenty for my hunting areas.

By comparison I had a mag340 before which was a great bow but the higher draw weight aggravated my chronic lower back problems and I found it ate through servings quite quickly. I still have my original Axiom SMF which is easy to cock and reliable as they come but I’ll probably sell it soon.

If you're only shooting 20 yards and don't use a big expandable, there's no reason why it wouldn't be an awesome bow. Heck, the old carved tip Vixen took an Ontario record moose years ago.

^^^ THAT ^^^
I have a Matrix 355 and bought a Matrix 380 as backup on Craigslist. Liked it so much that I now have THREE Matrix 380's

Hi, my name is Bob.

EDIT: I just checked Craigslist in Detroit and there are several Matrix for sale, include a 380 with crank for $700. Heckuva deal.
