I finally finished my European Moose Mount from probably the last Moose I will ever harvest thanks to our Ontario Moose tag Fiasco. It has been a work in progress for a few years but I finally finished it and it has taken its rightful place on the wall of my cottage. I thought I would share the journey as it was a learning experience for sure but I got er done. I wont post and pictures from the boiling stage as it was not for the faint of heart. Here are some pics;
Post boiling I hung it in my boat house for the better part of 2 years - I found that no matter how meticulous you are you will miss meat and tissue. It sure stunk up the BH for quite some time;
The peroxide/dye/bleach stage;
A respirator is a must;
I milled a biscuit of pine from where I harvested the bull and it fit perfectly;
It is now with my other trophies of a life time;
