Sandman thanks!!! I have a 1 year old here now so time is not something I have to waste by getting up at 5:30 when I can't get to my stand.

Annoying, you have issues!!! What does it matter if I chose not to go to stand when there is a walk and possibly a recovery that is a little more than the doctor ordered? Do you know the property? Do you have any idea how far back my stuff is? Do you know me other than an internet name? I could be 75 years old for all you know. Judging by your comments, I put you mentally in the 13-16 year old range. As far as having to prove physical strength goes, I am not too worried about a pissant like you being annoyed with where and when I chose to hit the bush. But alas, you are wasting my time and energy so I will end your little troll now. Feel free to comment all you want. You will be typing into space.

Happy hunting!!!

DR - Forgot to mention have ATV will travel. If you do get one down and your land owner does not mind using an ATV (alot lighter than a vehicle) I would be happy to give ya a hand gettin it out! If he does not want the ATV give me a shout anyway the more hands the less sweat!

Dear Annoying,
We can all see why you are a new comer to our honorable group. Negative attention is better than being ignored. But since you have a MS you would already know that. I believe you have made your point. It will be a challenge for you to see if you can actually be polite. Pick a handle and sign in as a nice person and no one will ever know you are the same guy. You are welcome here by all of us but only welcome as long as you don't start insulting people. If you get pleasure from upsetting people then please find another forum. Change the MS to S and M and you might find the kind of humor more appreciated.

Hey Guys
I am quite a bit North of you! We have had snow and then rain but the snow stayed! Now we are getting more snow and I don't think the frost ever did settle in!
The amount of snow you have will make a huge difference as to when the ground stiffens up! I have seen mud under a foot of snow in the middle of winter, other years!
It's pretty tough when Mother N is dictating your hunting efforts!
Sounds like you have some good souls to help you out of the woods anyway!
It may not be cold enough to freeze but definately cold enough to leave a bruiser for a while and get some help!
Go for it!
BTW never respond to an Ahole! You may get Annoyed!
Enjoy the Harvest!

The landowner is asking you to stay of his field, until it freezes solid, because he knows how easy it is to get stuck.

In my books, i'd rather drag a deer a 1000's yds than try and extract a vehicle up to its axles.

Last spring while after Turkeys, a buddy decided to drive his big pick-up across th field....he hit a soft area (almost like quick sand) and was up to his ying-yang in mud.

He had to get two tow trucks to pull him out.

The result: cost him a small fortune in towing, didn't get to hunt that morning and lost his priviledge to hunt that farm....it's amazing the damage one vehicle can do to a soft field, not to mention the added damage two tow trucks can do.

First of all I'd like to have whatever annoyed is smoking  Whenever you think the ground is frozen enough then I would still go to the landowner and ask his opinion. Maybe tell him that you have talk to other people and even tested the ground in certain other spots locally. I would let him make the call, even if it takes him a long time on his response. Good luck

Until the ground freeze over?!? Here on the Quebec side where hunting big game is over, we are waiting for the water to freeze over for ice fishing.

What type of field is it? Some landowners don't want anyone driving in their fields if it's been seeded (winter wheat). With it being wet you will do alot of damage to it.
