Big snow event

Post by raydaughety »

Woke up monday morning to go to work and something didn't look quite right. Our room was lighter than usual, so I peeked out the window to see a couple of inches of snow on the ground. I turned on the t.v. to watch the weather and I couldn't believe the cancellations. All the schools, daycare centers and government offices were closed. Just about then my employer called and said that we were shutting down for the day due to the snow. It took me about 10 minutes to get dressed, warm up the 4x4 and head for the hunting club. I sat on one of the powerline right of ways until lunch and saw nothing. You guys from up north probably deal with alot worse than this on an average day. My wife went to wal-mart and said there was no bread nor milk, people were fighting in line. I guess they thought they would be stranded for days. What really amazed me was there were a few side roads that still had ice, so they closed the schools again today. You have to laugh. I must have seen 20 cars in the ditch on the 12 mile drive to the hunting club. But, we don't get the white stuff too often, so it's pretty to see once every few years. It's just the reaction of the people that made it funny. It's 5:00, let me see if I can make it home.
God Bless !!!!!!!!!

Yep when ya don't get that white stuff very often people just don't stop and think about the slippery conditions.

We have a storm warning out for Northern Ohio, NW east, and south to Mansfield, Oh. 8" + and more for the rest of the week.

Looks like we SHOULD have a White Christmas...

I lived in Mooreville, NC for a bit and I saw the same thing while there. People would clean the shelves at the grocery store, buy snow blowers and generators with only an inch or two of snow. Ditches would be lined up with cars in them. It was pretty funny.

Ray,
Possible buisness opportunity for you, see the link http://thewayout.polarisindustries.com/ ... fault.aspx

The deer should be pretty freaked out though, you should have good hunting. Besides you probably want to hord as much meat as you can!

P.S. Don't forget to stock up on beer.
