How to age a deer?

Post by ecoaster »

I know how to tell the difference between a yearling and a 2-3 yr old deer by their teeth, but how do you age one 3 yrs and older? The doe I got was quite large and her head was massive. Bigger than most bucks I've taken. I'd like to find out the age. I still have the head, bones and legs.

Any help would be appreciated.
I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!

The PA Game Commission website has the hunting rules and regulations, and drawings of the teeth at various ages.
I would say that Digger's source is the best one that I have ever seen!
No need to look any further!
