1st for me and max(now w/pic)

Post by fletch »

I went out last night to a friends place and hunted one of his stands and I shot my first deer ever with my exomax. It is a 4 pointer, not a monster by any means but he should taste great. Like you all say it is something I will remember forever. He was broadside about 15 yards out but I hit him farther back than I wanted, hit the liver and looks like it deflected off a rib and caught a piece of lung then exited just behind his far front leg. He bolted for about 30 yds then walked and layed down where I could see him between 2 trees. I thought that was it, but after about 20- 30 mins. not sure no watch, he stands up and walks out of sight. Ohh great. So went back to my buddy's house to let the deer be, had supper and both of us went to look for the deer. He walked about 80 yds but layed down three times. I was very glad we found him. No pics my camera is at future shop getting fixed. Thanks Kevin and all of the forum members for the great advice. Now only 1 tag left. http://www.hunt101.com/img/235636.jpg

Nice going Fletch. If you didn't hit the stomach then you weren't too far back  . You can't eat the antlers, so don't worry about the size!

I just tried some jerky from the one I got on Tuesday. Delicious!!!
I hunt for memories, the meat's a bonus!
