crossbow storage temperature?

Post by Aspide »

I storage my crossbows in a big dry room with +10° celsius temperature(in winter season).
Please can you tell me if the temperature is good?
Or is too cold for the crossbows?

If you took the string and dp pads off, that temperature is perfect.

Thank you Partikle

I have also compound crossbow :?(GLC-Horton-Browning-Buckmaster) and i am very worried for the compound bow, and less for my Excalibur recurve bow.

Srorage refference!

Some interesting information can be found at the excalibur.com site!
I did a search in the FAQ section and the only refference I found to storage was FAQ #16
Quote: How often should I unstring my crossbow?
You don't have to unstring your crossbow everytime you use it, but it will appreciate having the limbs relaxed between seasons where you aren't using it. The #1 concern is that you never leave the string on if your bow is exposed to high heat, such as in the trunk of a car in the summer sun!

That is Bill T's recommendation, don't forget, as Partikle said remove the db pads. This can be done without removing the entire db bar assembly, and is done to prevent the force of the limbs from squashing your pads, and will allow the limbs to totally relax!
Enjoy the Harvest!
