Flat nocks
Where do you guys get your flat nocks. I went to 2 different stores here in town yesterday and all they sell are the orange ones by horton for carbons. I want to cut down some 2115's and some 2117's for some practice bolts and save the carbons for hunting. Ill check Cabelas next time Im there.

i also use the point inserts on the aft end when I can't find a flat nock of the correct size.

Bstout/Golden Eagle,
Using hot melt glue, i heat the glue stick and then apply the melted glue to both the carbon insert and inside wall of the aluminum bolt.
I guess if i wanted something more permanent, i would use epoxy.
The 2117 carbon inserts fit all my 21XX (2114, 2115 and 2117) arrows/bolts.
I believe they weigh 15 grains.
As far as insert size, they were available for 18xx - 24XX shaft sizes.

inserts
I would think that if you had the threaded inserts on both ends that if you ever missed or made a pass through shot and put it into a tree or a log, etc. that an arrow puller would be threaded into it to help pull it back out. Would that be the case??? Also if you used the heavy brass inserts in both ends would that cause any issues with arrow flight or the extra weight just create a slow down in speed??
