First of all welcome back.
Second. For somebody to try and push you out of a hunting spot that you were kind enough to invite to, that is not fair play. Who ever it was has no doubt lost a friend and a hunting buddy as well as somewhere to hunt.
The fact that the farmer turned him down is a compliment to you on your relationship with the farmer. You have earned the farmer's trust and respect which is not easy nowadays. Remember, farmers talk to farmers.

I hear you Mike. Good hunting spots nowadays are few and far between and hard to come by. The small one that I hunt, belongs to a friend of my hunting partner. Even though it's almost a 3 hour drive from me, we consider ourselves fortunate to be able to use it, and unfortunately, lest we wish to lose the priviledge, we can't invite even my closest friends.

Dont blame you one bit for lashing out!! I unfortunately have had to develop a rule or two because of people like this and that is;
"You will get one chance to f*@* me.....you wont get another!!!" (sorry if this offends anyone).
Nice to hear from you LW!!

Robin

welcome back LW, similar things have happened to me, about hunting spots and tree stands being stolen, my theory is that i'm the winner in the end cause when i harvest the biggest buck of my life i know its because god let it happen, [luck is a small portion of things in the woods], dont let it get to you, just laugh it off and say i know a better spot anyway...speedball...........
gone huntin never to return................
??? I missed this posting when it originally went up.
I have been a guest hunter at my buddies dad's farm for the past 6 years. I make a point of bringing his dad a bottle of the Special Reserve Crown Royal Whisky in the purple bag. His dad is a gentleman and always says "Nick you did not have to bring me that" but it's his dad's favorite and it's just a small token of my appreciation. Last summer when the farm house needed a new roof I when up for 2 days and lent a hand (and fed the black flies). I figured it was the least I could do for him letting me come up for a week each year and miss all his deer. I would like to get up there more often and help out but I have small kids and my wife is a student and it's sometimes hard to get away.
That being said, I have had some friends ask to come along on more then one occation but I have always answered that it is not my place to invite anyone, I myself am a guest. I don't think I would be invited back if I started acting in that manner.
I hope I get invited again this year and have the opportunity to miss more Renfrew bucks.
