O/T meat grinder
just wondering if a 220 3 phase meat grinder can be changed to a single phase 220 ???? with out allot of money spent

Chessy,why not use it as is,and just plug it into a dryer outlet,or rewire it with dryer plug?
Not many 220 motors are dual voltage.

Try to find a single phase motor of the same hp and go to it. A dryer outlet is 220 volt but is single phase, so don't take that route. One caveat is that a single phase motor will be larger in physical size than a 3 phase, so make sure it will fit before laying out the cash. Try a motor supply/repair company for a better deal on maybe a used or rebuilt motor. They will maybe take your 3 phase as partial trade.

Another option to investigate would be a converter. You can have it wired in but you'll be amazed how quickly the meter will spin!
