Wabi,

Compton Traditional Bowhunters is as strongly opposed to compounds as they are xbows..

You'll have to look back thru their newsletters-but they refer to compounds as "machines" and those who shoot them not archers..

They claim shots to 100 yards are practical....compound too easy..etc...

The only ones who are going to win in this argument are the HSUS, and PETA.

Hunter numbers are already declining rapidly. Why help them.

While discussing crossbows in the bowsite thread I gotta agree with Woody Williams it basicly comes down to "these are my deer and I don't want more people harvesting my deer and lowering my chances"..... the arguments against crossbows were based on misinformation and even when presented with facts to the contrary the vertical bow guys wouldn't listen...... some people really don't like it when you shoot down their arguments with facts...... :D ...

anyway.... it was good to see you on that site as well Woody..... over there I
go by Buckskin.....

Pope and Young are worrying about the wrong sh*t! Don't worry or fuss about whether or not hunters are going to be using crossbows in your neck of the woods, worry about whether or not there will will be a place to hunt in your neck of the woods.

We all share a common thread, we are hunters. I don't care what you use, do what suits your fancy, just don't wine about what someone else is doing if it is legal. Remember, the animals we hunt are not owned by us, and are not there just for YOU. They are there for anyone and everyone to enjoy, hunter or non-hunter.

Stalker - Just one more intelligent rebuttal (carefully constructed with facts and documentation) to the selfish, close-minded elite who shudder at the thought of just one more hunter coming into the woods in an effort to to take away their "wet-dream bucks"! Thanks for sharing your find.
