From the scuttlebutt I'm hearing - The bowhunters enlisted the help of the turkey hunters with scare tactics telling them that the crossbowers would decimate the turkey flock during the fall hunt. Not true of course, but these guys play just like the Animal Rights Freaks in that they don't let truth stand in their way.

These folks did an end run around the game commission and went straight to the politicians whining away about crossbows.

As we know politicians listen closely to whining voters and started doing some behind the scenes arm-twisting on the commission. The politicians hold the purse strings for the KDF&WR and the commission.

It looks like the best we can hope for down there now is a "compromise" of maybe the crossbows season coming in on November 1. That is good pre-rut and rut time so all will not be lost. It is a foot in the door, if that holds up.

Virginia is about a month away from making a crossbow season decision.

They have the go ahead to eastablsh as crossbow season.
