buck pic

Post by terry-1 »

I checked my trail cam today it's been out for about 10 days and had 360 pictures. I finally had a decent buck picture this one will be big enough after he finishes growing his horns that I will not be passing on him if he comes through during season. He is alittle far out from my feeder set up passing through on a heavy used trail but you can still see he has some mass and his brow tines are starting up from his main beams. I zoomed with my computar to get more detail this posted picture is as it came from the cam. Also had alot of does with their fawns showing up in the pics.I put a solar panel on my cam and after all the pics it still showed full battery. I had a rat chewing up my solor panel wires though it may not last. Also, I tried a pack of the wasp boss 100gr broadheads with my Exocet and they sure shot well.I think I will shot them this fall season I ran out of muzzy 4blades and my local store does not carry them anymore just wasp and G5 products which are nice to but pretty high in price for 3 heads.. cam

Post by terry-1 »

The cam is the new moultrie digital. I have been running it for a couple of months now. It has a few little things that could be improved on but for the money I am happy with it. It takes a not so pretty pic every so often when the subject is moving fast it blurrs alittle or sometimes you get a pink tone I think form direct sunlight hitting the camera lens certain time of day,but I guess most all cams would do that. It is a great scouting tool come fall I bet I have most of these deer named after several months of running the cam full time on this spot.

Very nice pics & some healthy looking deer there! I put my 35mm "stealthcam" out recently, but I turned it off today. Too many squirrels, turkeys, and racoons to keep it in film  I'm getting over 100 hits a day on the camera, and it only takes 24 pics. Turned it on very late yesterday evening and had 47 on the counter this morning. I did get a few deer pics, but only 5 out of 24 isn't enough to keep me paying for developing. I think I'll have to go digital soon.
The deer I've been getting pics of don't look too big. They're going to have to eat a lot of corn before October

Great pictures, I bet you got excited when you saw that buck in the photo, he looks like he will have a nice rack by this fall. Thanks for sharing and keep the pictures coming. :D

Hey Terry,

What are you putting in your feeder? I'm impressed with the deer traffic your getting at this time of year.

good looking pics, and that doe looks very healthy. Last year i had racoons knawing on my actual camera housing. Im also looking to go digital soon wabi. Developing so many pics is getting expensive.

feeder

Post by terry-1 »

I am feeding 50% whole corn and 50% whole soybean. The deer are eating it very well for this time of year. This feeder throws 2lbs of feed 3 times a day for a total of 6lbs per day and the deer eat every last peice of feed.
