Post by Adrian J Hare »

How did you all make out with the turkey season ? How many Bow Killed birds ?

Sorry I never got around to Congratulate you all while the season was on. I had a different season myself and as some of you know , My wife was ammited to a Toronto Hospital and had a brain tumor surgery the morning of April 25th. Everything seems as its going well now and I have just gained more Computer time in the last little while.

So , How many bow kills ? ...BT

Adrian, like GaryL and huntman said, hope your wife get's better. As for me, I never had a chance to go hunting this year, only saw one fly over the truck while driving to scout a spot further away.
Old Indian saying, if a leaf falls from a tree in the woods the turkey will see it, the deer will hear it, the bear will smell it, the moose will not eat it, but be on the look-out for LeGrand.

I've followed your board during turkey season but didn't post - ahh yes I'm a lurker! great site though!
I tagged out in the middle of May - it was great season - very vocal birds in my area.
Both birds were taken with a shottie - however my second bird was shot in self defence so it could easily have been taken with a bow.
Best wishes to your wife and to a speedy recovery - I saw the report of the bird she took on the last day - congrats!

Adrian, I'm sorry to hear about your wife and I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery. I took the turkey course a couple of years ago, but still haven't managed to find the time to hunt them. Like the Leafs fans say, just wait until next year.

Sorry to here Adrian. My cousin who was visiting from Calgary a couple years ago found out he had a brain tumor while he was here and ended up in the hospital while here visiting. Funny thing was he was here for my grandfathers funeral. He thinks it was a sign. Anyways, my cousin had to learn how to walk, and read all over again, and some other things I can't remember. He's fine now, so I hope everything turns out well for your wife. :)

By the way... I didn't shoot anything this turkey season. :(

My turkey season ended early when I filled the second (and last) tag on the third morning hunting. In other words I was very lucky this season

Adrian, glad to hear your wife is doing well.
It was a tough turkey hunt this year. It seemed like the gobblers were all henned up throughout the season until the last few days of the hunt but we managed to get 2. I got one and my 13 year old son with his apprenticeship hunting licence got the 2nd which was his first turkey. Boy was he happy :D :D
They were both shotgun kills.
