What in the world Pic ??

Post by terry-1 »

I had this trail cam photo from the last time I pulled the card and never noticed this doe until tonight when reviewing saved trail cam pics. Look at her stomach back under her rear leggs. It looks like a pouch hanging down I think she is giving birth but it is werid the way the sack hangs down so far forward between her leggs. Anyway thats a first for me I have never seen anything like it. Image

Well I just figured it out ,She is giving birth I zoomed in on the pic and I can see one small legg and hoof sticking out between her back leggs. If you look hard in the posted pic you can see the small black hoof hanging out.

Gotta be a once in a lifetime shot! I have never looked at a trail camera,so can you tell me, does it have a set delay before it will take another picture. Since she is only in one shot,is she giving birth on the run or what? :) . Great bunch of pictures you put up!

That should win an award somewhere for trail cam pics.

She'll be standing most of the time during labor. Actually running around will make her contractions stronger. The doe I've seen given birth was in labor perhaps an hour and a half and, after cleaning jr. up and eating the placenta, was munching on grass like nothing happened. Amazing.

Send that one to the major magazines - Field & Stream comes to mind. You might get a T-shirt, coffee mug (besides your trail cam photo in a publication!)

Way to go!
