Range?

Post by Bigbore »

me being mainly a moose and deer hunter, just curious on effective range that a X-bow like the EXOMAG would have on these animals? I come from a backgroudn of firearm hunting and traditional archery with longbows and recurves. not worries about having to get close.

I would recommend the same range (to be on the safe side) of your traditional archery, like I do, but with a feeling of more confidence as to the straight travel of the bolt in thighter openings between the branches and the leaves if game's vital zone not fully visible.
Old Indian saying, if a leaf falls from a tree in the woods the turkey will see it, the deer will hear it, the bear will smell it, the moose will not eat it, but be on the look-out for LeGrand.

On an unalert animal: 40 yards on deer and 50 yards on moose...providing you know the exact yardage of your shot. (After 30 yards the arrow bolt drops fast.)
