C-2 CRANK COCKING AID PROGLEM

At age 78, returning to crossbow hunting after a 4 year layoff, using my 2012 Excalibur Phoenix 175lb xbow is nearly not as easy as I thought it would be. Thank God for the Excalibur Forum. I use to be able to string my xbow with no problem using the rope pulley hand cocking aid, even when practicing shot after shot. Now I cannot string the xbow with this cocking aid. So I purchased the C2 Crank Cocking aid which is advertised to fit 2008 and newer Excalibur xbows. But when the $127.00 C2 arrived this morning, try as I may, I could not get it to fit my crossbow stock no matter how I tried. I was sure to follow the directions but the area on the crank would not fit over the the heel of the stock. My xbow has the hole predirilled for the Crank Stringer bolt. But it will not fit over the end of the stock so the hole aligns with the Crank bolt. The interior design of the C2 is not cut to fit the end of my stock. I had just order a dozen Black Eagle Arrows for this bow and I cannot cock it.

Is it possible that Excalibur changed the design of the C2 Crank to fit the more modern bows? After dumping a lot of bucks on the new arrows and C2 stringer, I really don't want to spend more money in buying a compound crossbow. I loved the traditional recurve bows and the traditional Xbows.

Maybe someone has a older model C2 that would fit my 2.12 Phoenix 175 for sale? Or someone has a suggestion on how to make the C2 work. I really don't want to alter the C2 or my Xbow.

Respectfully, you will probably get more responses to your query if you post it in the “crossbow hunting” section instead of here in the “trading post” section.

Good luck

Does it look like this?
If it does it will fit. Make sure the retaining pin (screw) is out of the way. It needs to be flush with the mount.
It can be somewhat cantankerous!!

Mine fits perfect on my 2010 Excal Vortex. Like said above make certain you have the screw turned all the way out to mount it.

Does your stock have the five diagonal slashes on the side of the stock above the trigger guard? If it does not, you need the older Crankaroo or modify the stock to use the C-2.
