Hey Guys, I don't post here often, but I have a question I need an answer to.
While out sitting in my tree stand this morning, I brushed some of the snow off my cross bow after lifting it up to my stand.
While brushing the snow off I got a sliver of fibre glass stuck in my finger.
After finishing my hunt and back at my truck, I inspected the suspect limb closer. There appers to be a sliver of fibre glass missing (in my finger) from the inside of the limb close to the riser.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Should I continue to use the cross bow or should I replace the limb?
All information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Talk soon,
Rick

I believe I have seen this posted on here before, and it is not an uncommon occurence. I have experienced the same thing when I had my old carved tips on my Exocet. From what I remeber, it is fairly normal and shouldn't affect your bow in any way. I have switched to mag tip limbs since, but my decision to change limbs had nothing to do with the fibreglass splint that came off.

I confer with "j". Actually, if you look real close at the limbs you will see what look like dozens of tiny stress marks, but are just part of the manufacturing process.
Occasional a tiny sliver will form.
However, unless there's a huge chuck missing, it's nothing to worry about.

Hi Guys, thanks for your info.
My bow is an Exocet with mag tip limbs.
The piece that came off left a bit of a void in the limb approx. 3" long, 1/16" wide and not very deep.
I think for my own peace of mind I will call excalibur to discuss.
Thanks for all your help!!!
Just goes to show you don't need to know everything, you just need to know where to find the information!!!!good reliable info.
Thanks again,
Rick
