How to get brass inserts for a 2114 or 2117 shaft?

Post by Motto »

Hello,

I live in Europe and I would like to have brass inserts for a 2114 or 2117 shaft. Do you know any archery shops where I could buy them? Also, do you know what is the weight of these inserts?

Thank you,

No idea where to buy brass inserts, but if you want to add weight there's a way that's easy & fairly cheap. Buy some 8-32 threaded rod and cut it to the length to give the weight you want to add (around 25 grains per inch to get started). Then when you have the pieces cut, simply pull the inserts and screw the threaded rod into the back of the insert (which will be inside the shaft when re-installed) about the depth of 3 threads. I mix up a bit of epoxy and dip the end going into the insert before screwing it in.

Thank you guys for your answers. Wabi, do you make a few threads to the back of the insert before you put the rod in?
