These pictures are off my DVR so they're not all that great. I saw two hens this morning and that's all I saw as far as turkeys go. I saw a big coyote and got him on film too, but I zoomed in on him all the way so the pic is really grainy. The hen picture didn't turn out too bad but could have better. I didn't have to zoom in on her much, she wasn't even 10 yards from me... If that would have been a Jake or a Tom he would have had an arrow put right through him!...
I normally hunt form a blind, but I was on my way out and saw them coming when I was walking out following the edge of the cornfield. So just incase there was a jake or tom following behind them, I huddled inside the treeline and they walked right past me. But no jake or tom in tow!...
Acording to my range finder the coyote was exactly 106 yards out, I was in my blind when I got him on film early this morning.
When it comes to turkey hunting with a bow or crossbow, I'd have to say yes. Due to the fact that the shots have to be taken much closer than when shooting with a shotgun. Because it's only one projectile being aimed at the vitals, and not a whack of pellets going for the neck/head. It also allows the hunter to move around more freely without getting busted. Even if I decide to hunt turkeys with the shotgun, I'd still use a blind of some sort. The tent blinds are also nice to be sitting in when it's raining like it was this morning...
