I didn't know they made a moose version. Have not seen one anywhere. It is not hard to call them by mouth, just pick up a good DVD or CD and try it out. I like the Owen Scott DVD and CD " Calling Them In".

Yep, the sound has to come right from the gut.
Nothing beats the old traditonal birch bark cone for distance calling. And when you know there's a bull close by, use your hands and cup them around your mouth and block your nostrals with your index fingers, just as you would when using the cone. The cone can also be used to imitate the sound of a cow urinating in the water. Another call I've seen used a few times with success is a tomato juice can with a shoe lace at one end. But you need to be around water to use the can call, because the shoe lace has to be wet for the can call to work properly. The can call is an easy call to use.

Pratice makes pefect calling. If the Rut is on and moose are within ear shot, they will come to the sound of you blowing your nose!!! We had 2 bulls coming to my call 2 years ago, The little one was racking his antlers 100 or so yards out in the trees, but would not answer. I could not here the Big one coming in from the north, until my Brother shot. The big one answered for 2 hours straight coming to the call, my brother was only 150 yards from me, and he could hear the big one, he could not hear the little one racking the bush. Human ears suck..
When you whack them you better stack them!!!
