I just went outside and shot 30 40 and 50 yards. Every single shot I took was within half an inch from dead center. Pretty good if you ask me
DUH!
DUH!
Well, I been wonderin' why my shots are a little off to the side from 30 - 40 and 50 yards. My scope wasn't 100% straight. So last night I loosened the rings and re-aligned my scope.

If I can hit that close at 50 yards, standing up, I am confident.

Always on the level
I had the same problem sighting in my .17HMR untill I noticed it was off level - I can place 3 out of 5 shots inside a nickle at a 100 yards now that it is levelled - levelled my xbow and it shoots very accurate.

Re: Always on the level
I did it with a level the first time. I put the sturrip on a desk and put a level on the adjustment cover for the scope. Turns out the sturrip isn't totally in line with the limbs, so I lined the crosshairs up with my eye, and the string. Now it's dead onIglooman wrote:I had the same problem sighting in my .17HMR untill I noticed it was off level - I can place 3 out of 5 shots inside a nickle at a 100 yards now that it is levelled - levelled my xbow and it shoots very accurate.

Now I don't have to remember to aim slighly to the side. Just put the dot on and WHACK!
Now that's one I've never heard of.bstout wrote:When I first got my scope off of epay at a super deal I was wondering why I got it so cheap. I carefully mounted it. It looked perfect! When I went to sight it in I could adjust the elevation right on but not the windage.
The adjustment was all the way to one side and I still couldn't reach zero.
I was all ready to give the guy bad feedback. Thoroughly disgusted I started to remove what I thought was a faulty scope from my Vixen. I took my allen wrench and started to back the mounting screws out when I heard a distinct click. I had hold of the scope and didn't feel it move at all but I couldn't explain the click I heard.
I tightened the screws back down and the scope set up fine. I had no problem zeroing what I thought was a faulty scope. If I hadn't heard the click I would have never tried it a second time.
It was not squarely mounted into the rings and there was no way to know this by looking.
i've had problems with the scope getting loose before, some loctite fixed the problem.
well last week when i was cleaning my rifle, was going to put it away for the season, i cleaned it, greased the bolt, and when i was trying out, how the bolt was moving, i heard something moving in the scope, one of the inside lenses come loose, can't see anything focused through the scope, going to send it back to bushnell for repair, only have it for year and half almost 2, now let's see how good their warranty is.
