Brickhouse blind problems?

Post by duber »

Just trying to see if I have bad luck or if ameri-step has a quality problem.I purchased a brickhouse tsc from a store 2.5 hours away just before the rifle season up north. When I got back there and went to set it up i noticed that the little metal sleeves that hold the poles in the hub were coroded and some were cracked. When i tried to put it up they started breaking. So much for having a blind for the rifle hunt. When I got home I took it back to the store were I bought it and they exchanged it no problem.I set the new one up in the driveway and it seemed fine.So i took it and set it up in a spot I wanted to hunt the next weekend,no problems. When I got there the next weekend 2 of the sleeves were broken and one of the poles ripped the material of the blind.I can't keep driving a 5 hour round trip to return this thing.I have e-mailed ameristep, told them my story and have recieved no reply yet.Has anyone else had a problem with the hubs on their blinds?

Brickhouse blind problems?

Post by mike41 »

duber,
I have used Ameristep Blinds for the last several yrs. and presently own 3 of them. My problem has been with all of them turning "PINK" these were all the tangle camo color.
There has been a number of post on here about there quality control. I know everyone is trying to save as much $$$$$ as possible on their hunting purchase's. But just speaking for myself I won't be buying another one. I would rather pay a little more and not have the hassle that seems to come with this product.

If you are interested here is my contact that I have for the Co. I found him to be very polite and interested in my complaint. But it is just not worth the aggravation, for me to consider buying any more of there products.

Thanks Mike,I will definently be contacting him.I thought that ameristep made a decent product but am starting to think otherwise now.I will give them a chance to set it right before I make my final judgement on their products.I will be sure to spread the word either way. With the internet and great spots like this for people talk about how they find certain products and companys , they have more to lose than just my business.

I have an Ameristep Outhouse that has seem some pretty steady use and it still seems fine - no problems! It's nothing fancy but it seems made well enough for the $.

I would prefer something a bit larger than the Outhouse and still dream of a nice Double Bull with shoot-thru mesh.

Hunters View has the same problem with poles. Had 3 different peices broke this fall after 2 years... Canadian Tire sells woods replacement pole that will work....
