For example, I would need a DR filled out form to use xbow in La for deer, but not for feral hogs. I've been told but have no personal knowlege, that it's the same in Ok. Need permit for deer, but anyone w/ xbow can hunt non-game hogs w/ xbow.
I don't think that is how it is in OK.

Me neither.....and I have lived here all my life......your best bet is to call or e-mail the wildlife dept.......be sure you get a name if you rely on legal advice over the phone!

We got a small sow in SC (about 250#) and the meat was great! Had been on acorns which so I hear makes the best flavored meat. Anyhow it was just like commercial pork but not as fat - which I liked. I have heard that the boars taste strong so since I generally hunt for the meat rather than trophy I try to stay with sows.

I plan too, well good news is it is just the Doc that needs to be OK, or adjacent. But I am still going to call the state wildlife agency to get it all straight. I am in the VA health system, I may be able to get a VA doc to write one for me in that area. I am 100% VA service rated so it probably will not be a problem. Now I just need to save a little money for a hunting trip. That reserve I mentioned is 100 bucks for a hog and 25 a day to stay in their little lodge. That seems very reasonable to me, that includes field dressing and quartering the pig.

Thanks for all the reply's. :)
