Shootin' ( "Accuracy test" )

My buddy came over and we got shooting my Phoenix again.

Then we got tricky.

I shot these 4 caps from 40 yards.

Then I tried some shots from 70 yards. Got 3 inch groups from 70 yards. Pretty good I think.

was the beer before or after the shooting?

and was it your friend that shot the caps?

Maybe you better contact Excalibur about those new limbs! Looks like a couple of those were hit slightly off-center!

Actually those beer caps have been sittin' in my room since after a party last summer. There's about 20 something beer caps from that night that I emptied out of my pocket onto my dresser.

Still haven't thrown them out I guess lol.

Actually my friend did shoot the orange one on the end, but then I thought I'd be a jackass and shoot at it too and completely blew it apart lol.

I put a foam puck up for him to shoot at and he couldn't even hit it with 4 shots at it..

I should have taken a picture of the water bottle I shot. In the end of the bottle and blew out the bottom of the bottle.

I don't think I could do that at 70 yards though.

Thanks guys. I think Tyler and I might go to his uncles property tomorrow and try some shooting from 100 yards, just for some fun.

I'm starting to have fun with this long range shooting.

I saw that movie SHOOTER Saturday night, maybe that's why lol.

Are you using a Vari zone? at that range the crossbow will still be accurate, but the scope wont be able to see the target at 100 yards..
We are talking a significant arrow drop, feet not inches.

Look into www.cacciaebalestra.altervista.org to see the shims used to raise the scope, sounds like you are into some fun stuff! I tried 65 yards once, didn't work out too well for me..

Yeah I'm using the Vari-Zone scope.

I will probably have a lot of clicking to do, to get 100 yards dialed in, lol.

I just aim with imaginary dots at 60 and 70 yards. 70 yards today was the farthest I've ever shot my bow at. And when I hit just touching the dot on my first shot I was pretty happy.

I think that the spacer on the scope that Pydpiper is talking about
and if i am not mistaking he is using a special scope
