I'M NEW HERE ALSO. I STARTED WITH A NEW EXOMAX THIS YEAR AND I'M REALLY IMPRESSED. 3" GROUPS AT 50 YDS OFF OF A REST. AND STILL WITH PLENTY OF ZIP AT THAT RANGE TO PASS THRU A DEER LIKE A HOT KNIFE THRU BUTTER. MAKE THAT SOFT BUTTER. WELCOME.

Ratherbefishin,
I would, if possible get the package. It will get you up and shooting straight away. If you buy all the items individually you will end paying more anyway.
I am sure one of the guys on here will point you in the right direction, for a good price.
As for your comment about range finding while hunting. I don't take shots beyond 30-35 yards, and I used a range finder for every shot at game. I would rather risk a spooked target whilest ranging, than maybe miss or wound the target.

I use a range finder with a bow all the time.
Once you get to your spot you can range various objects ahead of time such as treea, stumps. Whatever is in your hunt zone. This way you will know the distance ahead of time when the deer comes to say hi.
Excal now sells a bracket that fits onto your bow and holds your range finder.
