greensburg kansas destroyed

greensburg kansas destroyed,,,that is 105 miles west of wichita kansas, this town is gone. a 1/2 mile wide tornado hit there at 10.00 pm last night. the town is closed everyone has left,,, maxville kansas has just been hit by a 1/2 mile wide tornado , this 8.15 pm tonight this is east of dodge city.

well it does get windy in ks at times,,,,on a clear day the wind will blow 15 to 30 mph,,,,,when you sight in your crossbow you have to add in windage.

Saw the news coverage of the disaster - and it looks like it is truely a DISASTER!
Hard to believe a town could be wiped out so completely by nature! My thoughts & prayer go out to the people of that area.

I grew up about 100 miles north of there. I agree, tornadoes do appear more common now. Not sure if that is actually the case, or technology has better odds of tracking it. Out there, you can have a tornado and it may never be seen by anyone. But now with radar and storm chasers, more are gettting verified.

My Grandma lives less then 10 miles from Pierce City, MO and it got leveled several years ago. It is amazing the destruction they can produce.

God Bless the victims. Hope they can rebuild their town.

THIS WAS THE LARGEST TORNADO REPORTED IN KANSAS IT WAS 1/2 TO 1 MILE WIDE AT TIMES, WINDS WERE 205 MPH, IT WAS ON THE GROUND 22 MILES , THERE WAS 68 SPOTTING OF TORNADOS IN KS. THIS WEEK END, WE HAD 9 IN OF RAIN HERE IN TOPEKS THIS WEEK END,,,,, HOPE IT IS OVER FOR A WHILE
