Phoenix Performance?
Phoenix Performance?
Hiya all: Purchased a Phoenix for this year. I have never even shot it yet so I was wondering if anyone had some hunting or target practice info on how they performed. I guess I am looking for how long your farthest killing shot was on a deer and info like that. Any and all info will be appreciated so I can gain some pre-practice confidence in this crossbow. Thx all, Owner.

Phoenix
Best bow that excal makes. This is great compromise of speed and power. You can kill anything in NA and most of anywhere else with this bow. Great balance, handles much better than my 200 ExoMag in treestandsand brush.
I bought the Phoenix last summer after debateing betwen the Vixen and Phoenix.I practiced shooting to 30 yrds. with it here at home and was very happy with the crossbow. For the first time in my 30 yrs. of archery I decided to try the Mechanical broadheads and I chose to do it with the Phoenix rather than my Parker vertical bow.I was successful in getting a Buck with the set-up and it performed flawlessly.I used the factory sights that came with the bow as I was quite satisfied with those. The shot was approx.22 yds, and the arrow was on the deer instantly with a direct shot to the boilerhouse.30 yds. will be my longest shot ever so I don't know what kind of answer[performence] your looking for on distance.
Give it a try,What the heck!
Great bow. I was shooting my Phoenix this weekend with my 11 year old son. I would shoot then get my bolt and then my son would shoot at the same spot. The bolts would be 1 inch apart at 30 yards. So when you shoot your bow aim at different spots on your target. Great bow going to shoot more this week. The Lumizone scope is awesome. It brings in lots of light.
I love my Phoenix X Bow. Bought it last year before opening season. It only took me a few shots to sight it in. (Can hit a bottle cap at 20-25 yds)
I use the stock fiber optic sights & think they are great. I do a lot of ground stalking & didnt want the extra weight of scope ,quiver (I use a hip
quiver). Its light, accurate and deadly! I have killed 3 Hogs & 2 Bucks with it so far. I use Muzzy Broadheads & recovery distance has been less than
30 yrds! (that averages less than my 243 recovery distances)
You bought a excellent Bow!
I must admit, if the would have had the Thumb Hole Stocks when i purchased... I would have went that way. I think it would be more comfortable on the hand (grip) while easing through the woods.
One thing for sure.... You got a great X Bow from a excellent Company!
Enjoy & Be safe.
One Tip... Check the Bolt twice befor Pulling Trigger.
First-Make sure there is a Bolt there.
Second-Make sure its seated firmly against the Trigger Assembly
