Check out all the bracing they have on . . .that might be a little uncomfortable in a tree stand . They barely move when the recoil hits.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

Is it me or do those bows have a very short power stroke or is the long stock making it look that way?

There is basically two types of formal Xbow target shooting. In the USA there is only one and that is FIELD crossbow-not to be confused with NFAA or FITA Field. Field target is what TNC sponsors at NAA tournaments which uses either the WCSA or the IAU 900 round. Bows are limited to 10Kilos of physical weight, and 95 pound draws. NO BOOTS, slings, jackets. Distances (depending on the round) is 65M to 35M on the familiar 60CM or 40CM FITA target. Indoors 18M on a 40CM or 25CM target
This film shows MATCH Crossbow. Shot like position rifle with slings and ISU jackets. Very short draw strokes with much heavier weights. In some competitions-a real bolt is used-no point but rather a wadcutting tip. IIRC 10M and 30M distances-like air rifles-one shot per target at the ten meter distances. Whacker of Switzerland makes some of the bows-Beeman Air Rifles once carried them. I am not aware of any MATCH crossbow tournaments in the USA though an olympic class rifle guy is TNC's chairman of MATCH Crossbow.
