Quivers
Does anyone use hip quivers with their crossbows or do you just use the standard quiver setup? I have a Vortex, but I don't care for the offset right or left with the way the quiver is set up. So I believe I'll be using a hip quiver instead of the standard stock setup. Any input on this will be helpful.
Thanks,
Wes

Wes . . .I take the quiver that comes with the "right Stuff Package" and strap it to my waist with a velcro strap. Works really good. You could also use a belt. I like the convenience of the velcro, but, it's a little loud when I take it off at the stand.

The groundpounder is on the trading post but there are other options too. Dan Miller also has an over the top mount but is a bit different than mine. There are also several here that prefer the hip quiver. Pros and cons to all of them and alot of it has to do to what type of hunting you do as to what will work best for you.

I use a side quiver for all my archery needs.I too do not like anything attached to my bow except me. My quiver with the crossbow arrows in it has no part of the arrow sticking out past the end of it.I like the side quiver because it makes it easier to carry my Excalibur and I can still take it off or hang it up as I wish. Lon.
The last few years I used a quiver adapter called the Sidewinder. Basically it's an adapter that makes any quiver a hip quiver. Worked fine. Still had arrows catching on stuff and had to take it off in the tree stand. Think it's made by Vista and I got it at Sports Academy for around $7 on closeout. This year I bought a Groundpounder Mount. I had been looking at them for awhile and decided to just go for it. It's great. Puts quiver up on top centered over the scope and lite too. Should have got one a long time ago. Check it out - you'll like it.
I use the Groundpounder top mount and love it.
It lets me sit the bow level in my lap while on stand.

I made one similar to what you're talking about, but I used leather instead of velcro and put it on a fanny pack. I looked at the other hip quivers, but I didn't care for them. And I don't want anything touching my bow but me, either. The only thing I'm lacking now is the boo string, and as soon as I email him so I'll know what to do, where to send what, and how much it's going to be. Then I'll be ready for the season. Thanks everybody and and everything's been helpful to me so far.sumner4991 wrote:Wes . . .I take the quiver that comes with the "right Stuff Package" and strap it to my waist with a velcro strap. Never tried it, but it should be easy to make a DIY copy.

I got my top quiver mount bracket from Wyvern Creations ( www.wyverncreations.com ). I’ve got it installed on my TenPoint ProElite and I REALLY like it.
I REALLY like my Boo Strings and cables too.. Makes a nice looking package.
