GAS PRICES GONE WIND!

GAS PRICES GONE WIND!
Hurricane Ike has reached Southwest Virginia! Gas prices at the pump rose almost a dollar a gallon today as the cost a barrel hit around one hundred dollars. Gas lines are the common, almost like those in the 70's.
Crazy people, in line like sheep for the slauter. This gives me second thoughts about being a teacher. I should have owned a service station or an oil company. Just glad that my hunting property is within walking distance.

I went to my hunting property today(30 minute drive) and passed up a station offering gas at $3.53 per gallon because the station near the property usually has it cheaper. I got over there and it's $3.69 . . .fortunately the station next door still had it for $3.55. Needless to say, I stopped and filled up even though I was late meeting mostlybow for some deer scouting. When we finished and I headed home . . .gas had went to $3.99. In a matter of a couple of hours.
I really don't like hurricanes Or anything else oil companies/gas stations can blame while they abuse us.

I'd rather wear out than rust out.

At one gas station near home, in NC, it was $4.79 a gallon. Everyone is calling into the local radio stations . It is ridiculous. Everywhere else it is 3.99. The problem is politicians are getting richer and the state makes more money thru gas tax so anyone expecting things to get better think again. Politicians want to pay for their toys this x-mas. I figure to drive to my hunting land both ways is going to run around 15-20 bucks a trip, That adds up quick. It sure has made me maximize my pre season scouting and stand prep. I use the whole day and pack a lunch. Like i say this is ridiculous!!!!
Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today!

Here in East Tennessee, it's $4.49 in Knoxville; in Crossville, 70 miles away, it was $3.59 last night. Today the same station was $3.90; while I was filling up, it went to $4.09; stations are running out of Regular. This is CRAZY!!!!
Recently read that to offset declining oil prices OPEC had agreed to cut production.
The only way to ever cause prices to fall is cut demand, and that just isn't going to happen in today's world economy. About all we can do is figure out ways to use less - cut down on driving, more fuel efficient vehicles, alternate fuels, but we're going to pay!

You are really lucky: this summer in my country without any hurricane or something else gasoline arrived at 1,54€/l. (like 8,34 $/gallone), actually is 7,57$/gallone

it's 3.50 a gallon here in north east pa....funny how it's less per gallon now then before katrina hit....what happen to the "get used to 4.00 a gallon, it's here to stay" junk that was being pushed by the media ....so i see no reason at all for any hike at the pump unless ike tears the gulf a new one....when i worked for a station my boss couldn't sell it for more then .05 a gallon profit from what he paid for it, hmmm???...........bob
