I was proceeding through a little clearing, with a bush to my left...as I passed the bush I looked up to see a doe looking at me from 30 yards, through some trees. She and I had a little "stare-down" for a few minutes, with her stomping at me the entire time. I slowly crouched down into the weeds, and the curiousity got the best of her. She slowly proceeded to walk directly towards me. I had the Vortex crosshairs planted on her the entire time, but she didn't give me a decent shot. As she got to about 12 yards, she finally quartered slighty, and I let fly with the GT II with slick tricks. Took her through the front shoulder, with enough energy to get the bolt buried into her about 3/4 of the way. She took off, and only ran about 30 yards before piling up. Both deer are now at the abattoir, making the search for winter venison a short one this season. My buddy and I both managed success on our first trip to the bush in 2008. How can we top that???
Here's a couple of pic's. Good luck to all....Now I'm after ole Mossy Horns!
