opening day

Post by Rudy »

I had an excellent opening day. It took me a while to get my bow sighted in. I was all over the board. I ended up replacing the string and boom, hitting the target right where I wanted. I didn't think a string made that much difference to the accuracy of the bow.
After sitting in my climber for 4 hours, at last light a six pointer came in behind me. I thought that I would stand up and try to get a shot at it. I still couldn't shoot so I whistled and the buck jumped and ran to the side of me. I whistled again and it stopped just to the side of me. It was standing behind tree's, all I could see was it's neck and it's behind. It was standing about 25 yards from me when I decided to take a shot at it's neck. " I LOVE MY EXCALIBUR" I'm also glad I took the time to sight in my bow. It dropped the dear a couple yards from me. :)

Congrats! Nice start to the season, getting meat on the ground. Now time to fill the doe tags, eh?

Nice buck.
Where abouts around Kitchener do you head to?
There is some good hunting to be had around there, some big deer.

Excellent shot! Which broadhead did you use?

I used the 100g Wasp by Boss. It shoots the same as my target head so I feel comfortable with it after sighting it in and never had any problems with it. Some day I would like to find the bolt to see what shape the tip is in.
