track
mostsat tracks do not show claws when just walking. it sure is a big critter what ever it is .DUTCH
I came across the same looking track last year on my lease. I also compared it to a cig. pack I had on me but the pics are on my phone. If I had a way of posting I would. I came to the conclusion that it was a black panther which we are known to have here. Only thing that came close is the bobcat, but never seen one capable of making such a stand out track of that size. Do you have panther or cougars in your area? That would be my guess.
Respect everyone, but fear no one
canine track of some sort, I think large dog

Here's the biggest tom bobcat I've ever seen on my farm:cdup wrote: Only thing that came close is the bobcat, but never seen one capable of making such a stand out track of that size.
This one was a whopper. I'd guess 30 pounds, and I can usually guess pretty close. He's a lot bigger than the average around here.
Cat tracks seldom show claw marks, unless they're taking off, jumping, running, climbing, or have slipped.

Dont know if this helps but here is a comparison....Hope you dont mind Sliver I played with your pic a little??
Wolf tracks:
Cougar tracks:
Cougar tracks are retractable so there should be no claws showing.
I agree with Wabi that it is difficult to be positive with one track. When taking a closer look at the track it looks to me like there is possibly a track over a track confusing things a little....
Just my opinion from up here in the cheap seats,
Robin

Coy-dog is also a possibility. Hybrids can grow bigger than coyotes, will be feral, and less fear of humans.
