solunar tables

Post by cd14811 »

Seen this in another thread but didn't want to change the subject of that one. How many use and believe in solunar tables? I don't necessarily follow them but try to see what times are predicted and compare them to what i see. So far they seem to be winning me over.

I use the same as Sax.

I have used these tables(not the above one but some kind of moon table) for over 30 years both for hunting and fishing. Moon Rise this morning was 8:17Am. Had be light enough to see since 6:40AM. First deer I saw was at 8:22AM. From 8:22AM untill 9:10AM I saw 13 deer(12 doe and a fork horn). New Moon, Prime Time, MAGIC!!!!!! These tables are my bible. I hunt off times also but never see as many deer as I do in Prime Time. The most deer I have seen from this stand since the first of Oct. was 8. I have hunted this stand 5 or 6 times. My doe came from this stand.

You need to use them!!! I even have a Casio Pathfinder hunting timer wrist watch that goes by latitude and longitude and are very accurate.

I find that the best time to hunt is when I have time and just try to make the best of it but I have noticed over the years that when the sky is clear and the moon is bright at night the deer are moving at night and not very much in the morning M&M

Have you been in the woods when it is quite as a morgue? Suddenly the woods come alive, squirrels everywhere, birds singing, deer moving? If you check the tables these coincide with the major and minor times. Same with fishing. If you see lots of wildlife movement the fish are biting.

I use that same one, Sax. If you "join" the site [free] you can get forecasts for future hunts.

I gave a disabled guy from LR a bear hunt last year. He picked the three worst days of the month according to the tables. Never had one come in to two different baits in those three days.

I have a 3.5 acre pond on my property I've stocked and fish. Seems they read the tables too, lol.

Thanks for that site guys. I just looked up Nov last year... spend a few days not seeing anything then shot a great buck.

Yup, the buck was shot on the only 'best' day in the block.

I think I'll be paying attention now 8)

Thx Saxman, that chart pretty much mapped out the buck I saw two days ago. I think I found a new tool thanks to this site.

My GPS unit I received as a gift from last year has the moon phases and hunt-fish major and minor times within 2 different formats--its really neat ---They seem to all say basicly the same----That the phase of the moon affects game activity---What about humans?

I am sure it does. We are so out of tune with our bodies and nature that we don't notice it. More arrests are made during the full moon than any other week of the month.

I agree with you Bstout about weather fronts. Also post front conditions will basically shut down the fishing and to a degree slow down game acitivity.

The gravitational force of the moon influence the tides in the oceans so I believe those same forces effect all other waters on earth to a lesser extent. Flesh and blood contains a lot of water. I also am not statrting a "whizzin match" just my opinion backed-up by science.

I do beleive that it does greatly influence animals and people, just ask any cop or emergency room doctor or nurse on full moons!!
