Hi All,
I picked up my new Phoenix Package last night and wow, what a machine!
I have some questions though...?
1) Do I have to lube the "barrel"?
2) The manual says to wax the string serving...can I juse regular old bowstring wax?
3) Would spider legs make the bow quieter?
4) What about dampeners on the limbs? Can I use those stick on jobs?
Picked up my phoenix last night...now what to do?

Quiet is a relative term where crossbows are concerned...esp if you're used to vertical compounds. Spider legs will not make much difference in noise. They will slow down the string somewhat so not worth in IMO.
Wax the string regularly and and work in the wax with a piece of soft leather.
I use Jig A Loo to lube the deck. It's a spray lube from Home Depot, WalMart or the like. Goes on wet but dries quickly to a slippery but non-sticky film.
Welcome, happy shooting.

Welcome PA GUY
You picked a fine bow,I know it feels good to have it.
I have spider legs (cat whiskers) whatever,on some of my strings and some dont have it,as said above it will slow you down a little and quiet very little but they look cool.
I dont lube my rail but I read that allot do,I will try the jig-a-loo one day
When I get a new Boo string,I wax the whole string, loops included and rub it in as earlier advised and do the serving extra, the re wax the serving at least every 20 shots, more if it looks like it needs it.
Rotate your string every now and then so the claws are hooking up in a different spot,I dont mean change your brace heigh, which you will do anyway as it stretches but remove the whole string and turn both loops over 1 time and put it back on.
Get some BLUE loc tite and use a SMALL ammount on the scope mount bolts being careful not to get it inside the bow.
Check all your bolts from titme to time for tightness.
I have a V-Bar absorber system on my bow for noise and vibration, lots here use the sts, same thing but mine is very heavy duty with 4 contact points,I bought it before the STS came out.I see no need for stick on silencers on the limbs, but they would look cool(something I would like to do) if you use them keep them inboard tworads the rail not the outboard part of the limbs that do the moving,I think it would slow the limbs and they would most likely fly off to parts unknown.
You need to shoot it and get to know it.
KEEP THAT FOREND FINGER OUT OF THE WAY OF THE STRING.
Youll only do that once.
I have a Dry Fire Club Application and Certificate with your name on it.
Dont make me have to use it LOL.
Good luck and have fun
