I had to work today but thought I would head out to one of the properties that I have access to that does not have a slug gun season to check things out as I hope to get out before this week ends.
I have not been to the property much yet but a couple of weeks back I stopped in on the farmer to take a few rounds in his combine while he was doing beans. He mentioned to me that some a******* had driven their ATV's through his corn field from several different directions. I never thought much of it until tonight when I decided to walk through the corn where the ATV's had cut a trail. Well, as it turns out the morons responsible were not cutting trails through the corn but they were too lazy to walk to their "
pot of gold". There are about 15 paths of knocked down corn into the field and each one leads to an area that once had on average 10-15 plants (they were cut off at the stalks). I cant beleive the damage they caused by nothing more than laziness~! But, I guess respect seldom comes on the heels of a criminal now does it~!
Im hoping that their laziness will bring them back next year~!
Cheers,
Robin

It's something that's happened at both farms I hunt too - one of them it was a few years back, the other was this year. I have no use for people who think that they have the right to use a farmer's field as their personal playground.

Too bad the deer didn't get it. Would have brought on a whole new kinda "rut drunk" buck

. Hope you or the farmer catch up to them.

I never find anything interesting when I am out in the bush. Although every time I find trail markers I follow them to the end. Usually just boring stuff like old camps, property stone markers, and wrecked old cars. Never secret crops and cam nets. Thats something that people up here would rather just do inside.
Sad to hear they are ruining your hunting grounds and all that corn.
Take it easy.

SM around here they will booby trap the area....Not so much for curious people but to deter being ripped off. Things like fish hooks strung on fishing line at eye level on trails to shotgun shells attached to rat traps as the firing mech.
Cheers,
Robin

Too bad, Robin.
It is frustrating, isn't it, to endure the aggravation of someone doing something to you
that you would never do to someone else. It just doesn't seem fair to have to deal with the fallout of careless and abusive actions you would never think of doing yourself.
The best
you can do is to hold your head up high in the midst of the misfortune, knowing that
at least you've never sunk to that level.
Truly,
treating others as you'd like to be treated yourself is the
Golden Rule.

I don't use it but sounds like a damn good reason to take the prohibition out of it. Just think the income the local government could generate with licensed (taxed) outlets.

Holy crap, the lengths some of these guys will go to. I suppose a combine running over a shotgun shell makes hullava mess.
