Deer hunting observation, graphic content
We have been hunting locally this week in a deer rifle season. I have some pictures (that hopefully will come thru) to show a rare and very unfortunate situation that probably occured within the last week. It requires close observation.

YES, exactly!
This was two large bodied 8 pt bucks with long haired coats, and heavy legs/feet. Field dressed they would both have been apx 200# or 250# on the hoof. It appears they clashed and tangled antlers then endured a ferocious battle till their demise. I'm guessing the large area of soil is bare due to the intensity and duration of their struggle, and what a struggle it must have been. One buck's face is partially buried in the soil. Getting his head free almost took a shovel. Coyotes have removed the choice meat at this point and may still be returning for the remainder as it's not very old.
Unfortunately this is not the first time such an event has occured. It is considered rare and not something I would have ever imagined seeing so close to home.
