I nailed this old boy with an 18 yard shot. He came in just before dark, I took the shot and watched him fall after a 20 yard run. Total distance from the stand was 30 yards for recovery. He would have been a real nice 11 point but he was a fighting deer. His left side g2 was snapped off, his right brow was broken and he had a forked brow on the left that both tines were busted off.
The best part is I worked like a dog to get this deer. He is not the biggest one I have seen this year but he is a nice old Ontario whitetail that was harvested with a quick kill about an hour from where my bow was manufactured.
To get to where I used my climbing stand, I had to walk for 15 minutes through a dirty swamp, breaking through ice, busting through brush, over wet rocks and just plain old dirty swampland. Nice getting there knowing your bow is going to do it's job when the time comes.
Thanks Excalibur! keep building em!
