Dutch, Dan Miller is the US guy for Excalibur, he has the same (almost) reputation as the guys who deal directly with Excalibur here.
I have spoke to Dan a few times and he is indeed a great guy, but to us here Dan is an Extension of what we already have when it comes to warranty stuff.
He is also a wealth of knowledge, and is always willing to share what he knows, here we have the factory and Dan is not needed from that standpoint. US guys depend on him, and for good reason.

Dutch . . .I should have clarified. There were some lumizones that had recticle issues. Dan was testing them before sending them out to make sure they were good. If there is an issue, then Dan knows about it before anyone else.
You are right . . .if there is a problem, then Dan will make it right for USA customers, regardless of where the product is purchased. However, in the case of the scope, I'd perfer having Dan look at it before he sends it to me.

scope
i got ya just wasnot sure what you were getting at thanks for clearing it up DUTCH
We had a lot of warranty issues with the last batch of Lumizones, shipped from here last September and October. As noted we have returned them to the supplier and stopped shipping till we are 100% sure that the newly manufactured ones are at least as good as last years production. This sort of thing is very embarassing for us, we sure didn't see it coming and we won't tarnish our reputation like that again if we can help it. As a result there will be a break where Lumizones are not available, but when they are you can rest assured that they'll be an even better product than they were before our recent problems started. Hang in there and we'll get them back in the system soon, and if you have had a problem with the bad batch please accept our sincerest apology and know that we are doing our best to take care of everyone who has had issues.......Bill
Bill, you just can never be sure of anything that you don't do in house. Nature of the beast. And I am certain you do not want to enter the competitive world of scope manufacturing.
Not all incoming inspections will guarantee that everything is caught that may be a problem. So bad product will always have a chance to escape to the customers.
The measure of the company is how they handle the situation once the problem is identified. And once again, you show your customers why they will never be on the short end of the stick with any product that carries the Excalibur brand name. The brand name carries the guarantee.
That being said, It makes one wonder why anyone would ever purchase any other brand.
