First Deer with new Vortex
Hi all !
Well i did it. My and my new hunting partner Mr. VORTEX takes its first deer.
Got home from work this afternoon and thought i would go for hunt. wind was coming from the south so i set up on a north stand ( ground blind ). last year at the same blind i got busted by three deer as i drew back my compound bow. I was half way back in my draw when they heard my arrow run across the wisker bisket rest. I new then that my compound bow had seen its last day in the field. So today when i got settled into my blind at about 3:00 pm these memories of last year were in the front of my head.
we have about 6 " of crunchy snow so i thought i would hear anything moving into my set-up. Boy was i wrong . at about 4:00 pm looked up and without a sound two does were walkin in. As they got closer they both looked about the same size so i wasen't picky about which one i would try to take. Put the new vortex up to the shoulder and at 20 yards let it fly. Heard the arrow hit with a thud and a little wabble from the doe, she ran off over a little hill. I let out a little grunt and stopped the second deer about 50 yards out. after a few minutes i went out to see if i could find any blood. And there it was. spray about 3 feet wide and about 4 feet long. So i knew i hit her good.
Went back to the house had supper and after about a hour went to track her.
didn't take long, she had got over the hill and died no moer then 50 yards from where i shot her. The Vortex did the job.
I hope the picture comes out. last time i tried it didn't turn out so good.
Thanks Excalibur.
Mike
