Would you shoot a legal bearded hen?
We've got at least one bearded hen on the ground we hunt.
Would you kill her if you had the opportunity?

I would; look at that bottom picture and tell me that wouldn't be an awesome full mount? They used to be pretty rare around here but now it's not uncommon to see many of them. I wonder what causes the mutation?

Yep...there are no shortage of birds around...just ask the landowners what they think about you passing up on a legal bird.

She's a legal bird. If you want her, why not?
I can see where she would be a more distinctive trophy than any normal gobbler, even a big ol' boy.
I guess I'd figure it out when I had a good sight picture.

I don't know, but this chick (If chick she be!
) says you should just go with it:

Make sure to listen to her
"variety is the spice of life" rationale!
Whatever floats her boat, I reckon.

now ive seen a few hmman ladies with breads also
Its just a thing that happens LOL...
ive seen 3-4 in my lifetime.. never had the chance to actaully shoot one. I dont think I would simply because I want a real gobbler, not a wannabe

Crazy, I'm ashamed of you.
You shouldn't shoot a woman just because she's got a beard.
You should know better.
And you ... a sheriff's deputy!

Turkey hunting does not appeal to me but I went one time and I shot a bird that had a beard but turned out to be a hen. I knew it was legal as my tags did not say male only but a bearded bird. I had no clue it was a hen because it was my 1st time out. My deer tags do not say buck only but say valid for antlered deer which could be a doe w/ antlers. So i already shot a bearded hen and if given the chance I would shoot any anterled deer as long as my tag allowed it.
