Kind of reminds me of the time I was driving down a country road near Chatham, Ontario. Going maybe 50 km/hr (that's about 30 mph) and I see this bird go running past me on the side of the road, little cloud of dust, sort of like the roadrunner cartoons. I sped up a bit to catch up and turns out it's some weird sort of chicken, but it has 4 legs. I managed to keep up with it at about 60 kph for a bit, then it made a sharp right turn into a farmhouse driveway and disappeared.
I stopped and backed up, and drove down to the farmhouse. The farner was on the porch just whittling away in his rocking chair, so I told him about what I saw, and he says, yep, we breed them here. I asked him why he would breed 4-legged chickens, and he says that over the years there would always be an argument with him and his wife and their 2 sons about who would get the drumsticks when they had chicken for dinner, so he started breeding 4 legged chickens. I thought that was pretty amazing.
Then I asked him what they tasted like. He said "Don't know. Ain't caught one yet."
