Bolts

Post by Gimpaw »

I assembled my Exocet yesterday. The only thing that I need are the bolts. I was told that this xbow was accurate with 420 grain bolts. I figured that I could run down to my local Excalibur dealer and get what I needed.

I asked for Firebolts and the guy looked at me like I was speaking another language. I told him that I could probably use a different carbon arrow but that I wanted flat nocs. "Sorry, we don't carry those".

I'm thinking that I'll just go online and get what I need. Any suggestions as to where to do my shopping?

Carbons are a good choice as you will read on this forum; however, I have had great success and currently use a 20 inch 2219 aluminium. I just wanted to let you know they are sometimes easy to get. Another option if you want carbons with brass inserts is to call Dan Miller at horizontal archey he made arrows for two of my friends that I shoot with and they like them alot.

thinking the samething....

they should know what firebolts are if they deal excals

bass pro and numerous places shold stock the firebolts in packs of 6 though.. normally 40bucks or so per 6?

as Big D said, Dan would be a good one to talk to also.. its quite a few people here that can help with arrows if you need any.

try ebay also if you need to:)

If you are looking for some sharp looking arrows e-mail crazyfarmer. I saw pictures on here and they look awesome. After I shoot all my 2219 alumunium arrow, I may in the future.

Thanks everyone,

I had gone to Al and Bob's sporting goods this morning. I know that it sounds like a hick shop, but it's actually supposed to be THE place to go in the Grand Rapids MI area.

This afternoon, I had a physical therapy appointment and I stopped by a small sports shop near there, and they new right away what I was talking about and they hooked me right up.

Now I'm going to pick up a feed bag and try the target idea that I read in this site... the clothes in the bag target.

I've had the bow for a day and a half, and I'm itching to send a few bolts through it.

Thanks again to all!
