I just got the phoenix today and this is brand new to me.
Looking at the firebolt the back end has what looks to be similar to an aluminum insert. Is this the flat nock and is the bolt ready to shoot or am I missing something?

You should do well with that combo. I'm shooting 125 slicks on stock Firebolts with excellent accuracy. If it spins true, it'll shoot to same poi as field points all day long. Had to mix & match arrowheads to shafts to get them all spinning perfectly true, but had no problem finding matches for 6 broadheads among 14 arrows.
You can use brass inserts to increase arrow mass if you want. With the 125 grain heads, mine (factory aluminum inserts) weigh in ~395-400 grains total. A bit on the light side, but comfortably above the 350 grain minimum. Accuracy & penetration good enough that I shelved the idea of replacing the inserts for now.
