I put the STS on my phoenix and it still makes the same clunk it did before. Sure some twang and vibration is reduced a bit, but that clunk is still like it was.
BTW, the rods on the STS had to be adjusted (made shorter) to fit the correct brace height, and boy was that a pain in the butt. Had to hacksaw them with out a vice.
I use the NGSS, to adjust you just loosen a set screw on the bottom, the pads slide right to the string, then tighten.
The clunk you are hearing may not be something that an aftermarket bumper can help, it may be associated to other things, like your arrow hold down spring.
