Just like we thought the river was definitely up from the rains. A pic of my truck before unloading the boat.

Then we made a trial run the day before the hunt started. Wanted to make sure we could make our destination without any obstacles. The only main obstacle though was the fast current for my 55 pound thrust trolling motor. Here is a pic of us coming back down to camp. Jonathan up front and Mike in the middle. I was driving and picture taking.

The first day of the hunt it appeared we were not the only ones that had this idea. Here is a brave sole with the same plan but via whitewater kayak

It proved fruitful for the effort. On the first day Mike in our group shot two does and the gentleman in the kayak shot a decent eight pointer. We were loading boats at the same time and I told him I wanted to watch and get pics of him getting his deer on the kayak and down the river. But before he attempted I told him we had room and didn't mind hauling it out for him. Much abliged and here is the boat load of deer.

That was it for bagging deer. The rain came back in this afternoon so we decided to pack up and call it quits. Jonathan and I both saw a small black bear cub less than 100 pound on the trip that also added to the excitement. We had a great trip and now I have some processing to do!
Seeing the boatful pic didn't post the first time here it is again.
